Where is your studio located?
My studio is located at 110 Cherry Street, Middleboro, MA. It is on the corner of Rt. 28 and Cherry Street. Click here to visit Google Maps.
What does a portrait sitting entail?
You can opt to have your portraits taken in the studio for a more formal look, outdoors or at a location of your choosing. Plan to have fun. We will spend approximately an hour together during which we will photograph different poses and, if you chose to, you can change into different outfits. Portraits can be posed and formal or more relaxed and less formal.
What should I wear for my portrait?
You want to wear something you are comfortable in. However, busy prints and overly bright clothing is very distracting in a portrait Avoid large, bold patterns and colors that tend to draw attention away from your face. When the portrait includes 2 or more individuals, it is best to wear coordinating, neutral colors. Sleeveless clothing usually does not photograph well so your will want to wear clothing with sleeves if possible.
Are eyeglasses a problem?
No, eyeglasses are not an issue. When angling the lights and/or glasses properly, they photograph without glare and shadows.
What is environmental portraiture?
Environmental portraits are taken with the subject, people or animals, in their own environment. This could be at work, in their homes or for pets in a pasture. Environmental portraits provide information about the subject.
Can props be used in a portrait?
Props help to show an individualÕs personality. Examples of props could be musical instruments, a favorite pet or childÕs toy, uniforms, and sports equipment.
Can you mat and frame a print?
I can mat and frame any print and have several different examples available.
Are you familiar with maternity portraiture and do you have experience in this area of photography?
Yes, I have taken maternity portraits and it can be a lot of fun! I have examples of the work IÕve done and can meet with you to show you.
